Why does my rooster do this?

Jumping like...... he jumps and then his claw scrapes my skin and it's painful

ok, he is being protective, try squirting him with a spray bottle with water and vinegar in it.

No! It just is unpleasant.

he *should* learn that he will get sprayed with smelly stuff when he attacks you so he won't want to do it.

Oh ok but he deals with a lot of smelly stuff already like my other baby chicks they are very smelly my roosters not a baby chick though

I have baby chicks then older chickens my rooster is a older chicken and aart ok I wiill read it.

How old is he?
I believe if you avoid or side step him he HAS won that space. If you can start taking back your space by walking through kinda like the mean girl in high school.
If he dances or moves aggressively to you MIRROR his movements until he stops.
As a RIR he could get big enough to do real damage if you don't work with him.
