My Dark Bramah rooster is always wobbly and falls over a lot. We got him from Murray McMurray Hatchery and they vaccinate for Marek's. He can still get food and water and he can walk but he just wobbles and falls. He is loosing feathers because when he has fallen the hens come over and peck him. We have given him shots of LA 200 incase it was an ear infection. (What we read it could be.) It hasn't seemed to help. There is a slight change but I has not helped a lot. He is only a couple years old as well. We made their yard bigger so maybe he wouldnt get the feathers pecked off of him. That has not seemed to help either. Could some one tell me what it is and what should I do?

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your rooster, X2 on try the Emergencies forum TwoCrows posted the link for.

Sorry about your roo, x4 on the emergency section. It could be a few things. He may have a low vitamin deficiency such as vitamin B or low in protein. cat food would make a good protein. It could also be soaked in water. It could also be brain inflammation such as meningitis. possibly a round worm infection which would deplete his nutrition. I'd separate him from the others for his own protection until he is feeling better. I would separate them with chicken wire. so they can still be near each other without the pecking. Hope he gets to feeling better.
