That really is a loaded question. I suppose the first and foremost reason would be the noise, there is a growing number of city coops and while the ordinances allow the hens, it's not so forgiving on the Roosters. The second I can think of would be that having a rooster can really wear out your flock, especially if you have more than one. Also Roosters can be aggressive, especially during and after puberty. I have a Roo right now that has became a real pain in the ass (literally jumped up a bit my neighbor in the ass).
