this is just a random question, BUT why is the first thing everyone calls a chick an EE? I have been checking out a lot of these posts and the first ID (or close to it) someone calls it an EE(especially the chipmunk striped ones)?

EE is not a catch all

Well, technically, the definition is:
Easter Egger From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An Easter Egger is any chicken that possesses the "blue egg" gene, but doesn't fully meet any breed description as defined in the American Poultry Association (APA) and/or the American Bantam Association (ABA) standards. The name derives from the resemblance of their colorful eggs to Easter eggs.
Often confused with the rare, pure breeds of Araucana and Ameraucana, the majority of chickens in laying flocks that lay blue or green eggs are Easter Eggers. Even if a bird meets an APA or ABA Standard of Perfection breed description, but doesn't meet a variety description, or breed true at least 50% of the time, it is technically considered an Easter Egger. These chickens also may exhibit the muffs and beards similar to the Araucana and Ameraucana.

so we could start making a difference between mixed breeds and mixed breeds with the blue egg gene but everyone is so confused all ready!

if it has green legs= it must be an EE
if it has a beard/muff= it must be an EE
it has chipmunk stripes= it must be an EE

I just don't think it benefits anyone by just calling any bird an EE.

green legs can result from a cross of a yellow legged bird to a darker shanked bird

beards occur in other breeds....D'anver, D'uccle, Faverolles, Houdans,

chipmunk stripes also occur in many other breeds.....welsummer, barnevelder, OEG, etc......

We could call them designer birds with hybrid vigor.
