I love him too...I had tears in my eyes when I got to him. Poor guy was getting squeezed to death, cried on and questioned by me...all at the same time. I am still very amazed. He is not Thor but he is as good a boy in his own right and personality.

Now I must find the little babies if I can and heaven forbid there are more coyotes nearby...find them too. My neighbor killed the male to this one a few months back...it was killing her cats. So I am hoping there are no more nearby.

What a wonderful story. We have a Roo, and a love hate relationship. He is very protectvie of his girls, but sees me as a threat (Well, all of us actually, except for my son). I have had numerous people tell me to eat him or get rid of him, but I just can't see doing it. I have watched him herd them to safety when he sees a hawk. We currently have him lodging in a bachelor pad. When we got down to one hen, he was so aggressive even to her, that I feared for her. We got him 4 new girls to go along with Daffodil. Once my husband gets the new coop built, he will be free again, and I will take it from there, one day at a time. But he will be with us as long as he lives. His name is Daisy, because well, he "was" a pullett when my kids named them!

First let me say this one very important thing...as much as I love my boy...should he ever become aggressive with any of us...he is outta here. Either by way of rehoming or head removal. There are too too many sweet roosters out there to put up with a human aggressive one. You should be able to grab up his girls and them scream to high heaven and he merely check everything out without aggression.

Get yourself a good boy...good to you and good to your girls. Aggressive roosters are dangerous...they can cause real damage, especially to children and someone stopping down or bent over. Please be very very careful.
