We got out first chicks 4 months ago, and ever since I stroked their fluffiness, I fell in love with them. We got 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Buff Orpingtons, and 2 Ameraucaunas, or so we thought...I asked about one of my Easter Egger's gender, and people confirmed she was a girl (yay) but also an Easter Egger. At first, I was disappointed because of how much I wanted the blue eggs of an ameraucauna. But then when I researched Easter Eggers, I found out they could lay green, pink, AND blue eggs! I was so happy. I also found out they are better layers, which is what we are using them for.
So what I'm saying, is that you shouldn't be disappointed if you get an Easter Egger! They are amazing and in some ways better than ameraucaunas. I would also like to say (to anybody who hasn't already heard this), that I got mine from a feed mill, and most times they will be Easter Eggers instead. So don't give away your precious Easter Eggers just because they aren't as fancy, or "good enough", I love mine and I know you'll love yours too.
