The rest of it is flag waving to support the Federal effort for unity ?" And in fact there is some truth to it, but keep in mind that it is not EVERY American.

I personally don't go for the whole patriotic or religious stuff...no offense to those that do...I see so many problems with how our country is run and how religiously FANATICAL we can get and it is some what sad to me. The only thing I can do is make my little spot in the land happy and welcoming and pay my taxes and bills. I leave the political fighting and holy craziness to others.

You think all of our seperate states hate eachother but we pretend to like eachother because we are one country?

You dislike your flag?


I like going to other states. I have lots friends in other states.
 
........am I the only one who gets the general idea of this rant but cannot make enough sense of it to formulate an adequate response? Could someone maybe translate? I am ok in the first part, but towards the middle it gets all crazy.

Thank you for your great replies, so far. The Flag of England is the Flag of St. George. NOT the flag of the English in history.... I was digressing down a historical path (I love history)
 
I think we're getting a lot of bad press in the foreign papers and TV about some of the more extreme factions in our nation. I know that in the UK religion or lack thereof almost NEVER comes up in elections and I find that refreshing. When I vote for someone they pledge to represent ME and MY needs not the needs of whichever big business or religion that is a big enough business they can pay for his representation. They should represent their constituents regardless of religion or sexual preference or race or ....whatever.

I will say I love your country but I am curious about it.

I would like to know why modern Americans (I don't know much about older ones) need to shout so loudly about their G-d and the greatness of their country?

I think perhaps that every state thinks they are a different country and it's only the Federal government that keeps them as one. But I think they pretend to wave the flag of America for an effort in unity.

I don't mean any disrespect, fellow chicken lovers. I am from another country and this is strange to me. I think if someone shouted at me like this I'd think them bonkers. At work I'd think they were trying to brainwash me and if the government shouted how great they were, I'd laugh.

The only thing weirder is the way China controls everything.

For pete's sake! We have a flag that is a cross of two other flags. Not an English flag of the White Dragon! We are a singular nation as is everyone else. So why do we not shout the same as Americans. England is not so nationalistic unless it's the Right Wingers shouting.

Without insult, can someone reply nicely?

Ya know....Everyone in the world seems to judge a countries people by sterotypes these days. Not all americans are flag wavers, and not all brits are alcoholics lol

Many foreigners dont realise it but America is VERY different since our "problems". We are getting back to the basics and rethinking many things. Many of us are trying to move away from the materialistic culture that we have developed. Dont judge us by hollywood, our media, or our politicians. Im thinking there will be a great CHANGE in America pretty soon. We can't keep up our old ways or we will destroy ourselves.
