Why is it that chicks sleeping ok older chicken not ok ?

why is it that when you have baby chicks, they seem to sleep all the time,
and you see them sleeping. This seems so normal.
But in adult chickens, you never see them sleep and if they do sleep there most likely sick?

Humans are the same way, if an adult slept as much as a baby you would assume he/she was sick. Babies need more sleep than adults, and adults generally sleep at night, just like chickens.
