Why is my 1 year 3 month old chickens feathers falling out

did you try feeding her some canned cat food? the extra protein will help her feathers, and most chickens can't resist it. Some plain yogurt mashed with some feed is usually a crowd pleaser too. She probably hasn't eaten well in a couple of days, and you need to make sure she is eating enough. How is her poop looking?

She might have suffered a twist or a blow on her leg. Is there any swelling on it? or does it seem to be stuck in a bent position, anything unusual there?

Her poop looks kind of watery, and her legs both seem the same, and look okay

It sounds like she's turned a corner. don't worry about her being skinny. That's normal when chickens don't eat for a few days. And the feather loss may be associated with that.

She may have had some kind of infection or an injury, and she's fighting it. She probably lost her appetite because of this. You need to nurse her back to strength now. Offer her everything from canned cat food, canned tuna, chicken soup, to chopped boiled egg. If you have any canned pumpkin that you use to make pies with, chickens love it.

I'm very new to chickens, so take that into consideration. But, do you think it's possible that when you put her in the coop and stopped the free ranging, she became depressed and stopped eating. And then she became weak, lost feathers, and stopped laying all due to lack of nutrition? I mean, you said you didn't see any injuries and if she was sick, wouldn't the others get sick too? I don't know, just a guess anyway. I'm glad she's feeling better.

Hi guys, I just wanted to update on my chicken and how's she's been doing, first of all, she walks normal again, her tail is high, and she eats more, BUT, she is still loosing feathers and does not lay eggs and is still skinny
What this tough time has tough me is to love and appreciate more what I have, now I have much higher hopes that she will go back to normal, with some help from me of course
