Why is my chicken nesting??

One chicken stays in the coop on the same nest. The others are getting a chance to lay their eggs as well. This is there first winter. When I harvest the eggs they are very hot. I do not have a rooster. I have noticed that the barred rocks chase her off. Help I am really concerned about my girl..

Is it possible you have a broody hen? Give her some fertile eggs and you will chicks in 21 days....otherwise she just likes the comfort of the nest...LOL! good luck

Sounds like she has gone broody on ya and no hens do not need a rooster to do this the rooster is only to make the egg's fertile and to crow when ever he feels like it
