Don’t worry! She’s gonna be fine. So, this could turn out poorly for this attractive pullet. She may get overmated and injured. 3 males with how many laying females? They can go from looking fine to featherless and red/raw or bleeding and injured in a short time, so you’ll need to be proactive in keeping tabs on her health.
We have 3 males, plenty of space, and plenty of females, however we ended up with 4-5 females with very featherless backs/sides/head due to being the favorites for overmating. This happened pretty quickly. One pullet had a huge gash down her side to the muscle. We were not sure she would make it, but she’s fine now after a couple weeks of daily doctoring. we additionally separated the worst offending male to his own enclosure. After 10 days of solitary confinement, we gave him 2 females. He immediately mounted them to claim them/ show dominance, however, the 10 days of solitary must have mellowed him out bc he has been good to his 2 companions So far.
1) Due to coronavirus and being stuck at home, they are under my constant supervision and I’ve been working with the roosters daily to keep they all nice guys who just occasionally fight lightly. It’s working so far. If it gets bad, whoever is the problem will get rehomed
2) they have 20 acres to free range, plenty of hens and 4 ducks who love to keep them in line and bite them in the butt whenever they mount a lady.
3) I have a live camera feed in the coop too!
4) they hardly mate with her. They mostly just lay next to her while she forages and stare at her.
5) I lock her & 2 other popular hens in the run whenever they come running up to me all overwhelmed by the dudes. They’re happy. And no one has any injuries except one of my ducks is recovering from bumble foot.
