Why is my chicken so ugly?

Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Now what can I say about your boy...?

Let me see, um, nice ears on him.
Also, very clean nostrils, something which is hardly ever appreciated on finely feathered birds.

What else can I can say...oh, his eyes have a nice pupil to iris ratio.

Ok. 2 quotes come to mind. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. AND Beauty is only skin deep, ugly goes right to the bone!
If he is a gentle roo, they're hard to come by.. So he's a pretty bird.
OK, one more.. Pretty is as pretty does...

Funny, I was thinking Mr. Burns - from the Simpson's or the Old penguin from Happy Feet. What can I say, I have youngsters. I think he is cute... not ugly at all. I've seen worse.

DH was looking at him today and saying that this roo looks like he has hair instead of feathers. They are so long and straight and just hangy. Maybe we'll call him Cousin It.

We are not planning on keeping him, but I will probably end up either talking DH into it or trying to hide the roo (ha!) because the poor dear is a bit of a special case.

Bless his little chickie heart.

His little girlfriend that he was raised with is, ironically one of the prettiest little EE pullets I've ever seen. It's hard to tell in the pic, but she has a very delicate and dainty air about her. Beauty and the Beast!
