Why is my "Cream" Legbar grey?

I don't see anything "cream" about her. She's a lovely spectrum of warm greys fading into a camel and then a soft brown on her hed. Pretty enough but not cream in any respect that I can see.

What's "lavender" about lavender chickens? Or "blue" about blue chickens? My "partridge" Plymouth Rock is just a chicken with black and brown feathers. I don't get the names of colors.

Lavender chickens are sorta a white, silvery purple type color.Like LavenderAmericana, Or Lavender Orping.Blue(lets hope I get this right)Doesn't breed true.(or is it Splash?)Like the Blue Andilusiian, They can be really dark, almost black, or be really blue/lavender color, or the can be really light with darker patches.

I am trying to get some photos but they stick together like glue and they like to lay in the dirt under their coop where all I get is a pic of a dark blob.

I'll keep trying though.

Blue is a diluted black, so most of the time with blue chickens there's a potential to get black offspring. I don't think Splash breeds true either? I've been told it depends on what exactly made the splash (or lacing, too) so you could get throwbacks that are nothing but white, black or red. Someone correct me if I'm wrong! I'm not 100% on genetics but this is my understanding of it..
