She just laid her egg!

I'm proud, its only her second ever egg. They are so cute!

Eggs are made up of a lot of water, hens will consume a lot of water to replace what they lost in egg laying.

Thank you, that is probably it. They are actually quite big compared to her body size. Probably also why she's standing a little hunched. She only just laid it.

Sounds like she is doing well, sick birds generally don't lay. Hens get thirsty before and after laying.

What do you mean by her stomach is swollen? Is that below the vent between her legs or do you mean her crop?

yes, the vent, but forget that. It was just a little bigger because of the egg- I'm TOTALLY paranoid this week. Please don't worry about it. She's fine now and wandering about as I type!
