Why is my hen's face swollen?

Hello everyone! Update on Ellie: I returned from my trip late last night, so I didn't get a chance to see Ellie's face before bed. But this morning, the swelling is completely gone, her eyes and nostrils are clean and dry (but not too dry lol) and she seems perfectly healthy. Hoping it was just an allergic reaction to something, but still keeping an eye on everyone for respiratory symptoms. Thank you for your help!! :hugs
Yay!!!!

Hello, How is your girl? My girl, Buffy appears to have the same problem now. Is Benedryl the only thing you needed to do? I am trying to find antibiotic drops or gel but it isn't so easy here without an RX (Michigan).
Thank you

Benadryl helps when it's a sting or a bite. My poor girl pansy got stung and benadryl cleared it up within a week

Benadryl shouldn’t be used for a respiratory infection. It is for allergic reactions to a bee sting. What are all of the symptoms? Is there any swollen eyelid, bubbles or foam in either eye, head shaking, mucus from the beak, gasping, or crackles when she breathes? Have you added any new birds recently? Tylosin powder is the generic of Tylan, and it can treat MG or CRD in chickens. You can get it without a prescription from Jedds.com online.

I posted in a more detailed account on the em thread per a suggestion on here. I can't really tell if the eye lid is swollen in comparison to other I'll attach pix. No bubbles, foam, head shakes nor mucus or respiratory symptoms. No new birds. Got 6 as babies in Spring including her. Neighbor gave me some Tylan powder and I ordered some from Jedds. I'm concerned because I'm supposed to be leaving Thursday to fly out to Grandkids. Don't want to leave Buffy if she gets worse, my son is here but don't want to stress him out either.

The swollen area does not have the normal red color of the right side of her face. Usually swelling of the face there can be due to a respiratory disease such as MG or coryza. In the absence of other symptoms, it could be caused by a peck injury, sting, or tick bite. You could watch her, and make sure that she is not getting picked on, but also getting enough food and water. Sometimes Benadryl can be given orally once at a dosage of 4 mg per pound of weight, in cause of a sting or allergic reaction. If you have Tylosin or have had a past respiratory disease in the flock, that can be helpful.
I've heard of giving chickens 🐔 a sprinkling of dried garlic, the type used for cooking as it's got antibacterial & antifungal properties, don't really know dosage though
