Why is my hens pecking on my roos cone?

Is that where the term "hen-pecked" came from?

yip!! I have 12 red star hens that peck at his neck and he just stands there and takes it....I'm glad hes not going bald yet....hes only 9 mo. old.

These hens are nuts. They peck everything!!! Even my rubber boots....peck peck peck peck!
My other hens don't peck at all.

Look closely at the roosters face for teeny tiny bugs. They see them on each other much better than we can see them.
Perhaps he allows it because he knows the hens are grooming the bugs off of him.
