Why is my one mallard duckling light brown?

I didn’t even know Mallards came in Chocolate.

I'm not sure that they commonly do, which is why I was wondering if it could be an accidental cross. For example, breeding a khaki campbell male to a mallard female would result in chocolate mallard ducklings. I say chocolate mallard as the color name, not that they would be purebred mallards, of course But they would be colored as a normal mallard, only chocolate.

Aww sorry. I hate it when predators take one of our babies. Lost my OEGB roo about 3 weeks ago to a hawk.

I have a similar duckling, from Hoover, in with Mallards, Perkins, and Cayuga or khaki Campbell. I’m trying to figure it out. It has marking like a mallard duckling but is light brown.
