Why is one of my barred rock rooster attacking me I would be out running in yard playing and he would come up and fly at me should I get rid of him?

I remove aggressive birds with prejudice, and so do most people who have chickens here on BYC. If he's not special or a pet, I would definitely get rid of him.

He's doing it because he's go no fear of you, because he thinks you're bottom on the pecking order (or should be bottom on the pecking order) or because he thinks you're threatening the hens (running can be viewed as threatening behaviour) Or he thinks that your running is a retreat from his might and power, and he just can't resist kicking you while you're down.

If you don't want to put up with his garbage, and you have no use for him, the best thing you can do for yourself is rehome him to a nice, warn soup-pot.

Roosters and hens to, attack because they perceive weakness in the thing or person attacked. Now there are special cases like when a line of chickens have been so far inbred as to render them crazy. There is no hope for these individuals except for the chopping block.

theyre right, he views you as at the bottom of the pecking order or as a threat to him or the girls. You CAN get 'rid' of him, some people don't want to or have the time to deal with the more aggressive roosters. But heres how I see it. The rooster is supposed to be the protector of your hens, thus he needs a certain element of aggression in him in order to do his job right. How would you feel if a coyote came into your flock and started killing all the girls, and the rooster sat back and did nothing? No bueno. Id get rid of THAT rooster. That is truly good for nothing. He needs to defend the flock.
SO with that said, there are many methods to help your rooster to become submissive to you. They require time on your part, but if you have time then these may work. No guarantee. Depends on you, depends on the rooster. My favorite is to approach the rooster- with confidence. They can sense fear, like horses...so you need to not be afraid. Scoop him up and carry him. Hold him. Do your chores while holding him. Walk around the yard and hold him. He may resist at first, but eventually he will submit. And he may start to like it. This is the best method ive seen so far. They become submissive to the individual who does this. But its no guarantee. And you need to put time and effort. And make sure you protect your arms and body from him talons the first few times you do this, he may try to fight back. Just remember youre in charge, youre the alpha predator and you are stronger.

Good Luck! I love my Roosters!

I rarely have aggressive roosters but the most recent one I did have was a Brown Leghorn, he was aggressive towards mainly my little brothers. I assumed that he was mean to us because in my flock I had 24 BL hens, 24 RI red hens, and one big RI red rooster, the RI rooster would beat up the smaller BL rooster and sense the BL rooster had no other roosters to be above on the pecking order he included my little brothers as roosters just so he would not have to be at the bottom. *this is not a fact it is just what i have always assumed. I would suggest getting rid of the mean rooster, there is little you can do to make an aggressive rooster stop being aggressive.

The one attacking is my pet I hatched them in a incubator so but I have to do something or he might get the others doing it

It sucks when you have to get rid of a bird you hatched but you could give m1chelle1's idea a try, I personally have never tried or heard of it so i can't say if it would work or not but it is definitely worth a shot, but if it does not work I think you might have to get rid of him.
