I have a 5 months old roo who's been mounting our girls for a month now. Then yesterday he chased down our female duck and jumped her! At first I thought he was attacking her like our other roo did. BUT when I get to them he is going at it!

WHAT IS HE DOING???

Is this normal for roosters? Our other rooster killed our male drake so she was left by herself. We now have like a dozen ducks but she is the only one that gets mounted, attacked, or whatever they're doing?

I had the opposite problem, one drake mounting all of my chickens. He was super aggressive with them and was really becoming a problem. he was re-purposed as dinner for my neighbors. you may just want to put the rooster in a pen by himself or get him some more hens

Thank you faykokoWV! Yea we put him back in the chicken coop for now, and just let the older girls out. We have a total of 22 babies right now in the coop with him. Both of our roo's don't bother any of the babies so they are good for now. I guess when they all become of age I will let him back out with them.

Till then he is grounded to the coop.
