Why is my yoke thick?

My Australorp has laid 3 eggs and the last 2 the egg yoke(yellow part) is thick when I scramble them up to make scrambled eggs. It almost looks a little chunky. Why? Is something wrong? They are super dark yellow, almost orange. I threw them away, it made me so sad.

I get eggs like this occasionally and they taste fine. I assume it to be something my chickens have been eating either in their feed (some chickens process their foods a little differently where as one ingredient can have more of an effect on one chicken than it would another) or something outside as they also free range all day.

On a side note, my yolks have never been yellow, they've always been orange.

Thanks for the info. They do free range, I'm going to try them.
