why is one of my chicks stinky? UPDATE!!

I just washed my stinky girl a few days ago. No smell since! And to think all this time all she needed was a bath.

My guess is the got stepped on with cecal poo feet and it just stuck until they were washed.

I'm guilty of handling my chicks and chickens whenever I can, so I've been pooped on, and one time I had a cecal poop on my head- the dratted chick flew up on my head, pooped, and flew away. I didn't notice immediately, and once I did, it was in there for 5 minutes or so- it didn't stop stinking until 2 showers later!!! The hair kept wisping in front of my face after the first shower and I'd look around...then it blew directly in front of my nose and I realized the problem!!

oooo yeah, thats nasty LOL! I take them out a lot and yeah, I can always tell when they poop those certain ones.. I can smell it even if I can't see it... so I think I know what you're saying. whatever it was was prob the cecal poo and after the bath she was only stinky in the face... where I didn't get to wash her... not sure... perhaps she managed to dunk her face in some water and clean the rest off?? who knows!
