Why is she quacking so much??

Does she quack at people (or another pet), or when no one is around? My ducks all quack loudly when we pull in the driveway and are essentially demanding food (in my case) but as soon as we are out of sight they are quiet again.

Is she laying? Is she possibly going broody? Broody ducks can be quite vocal too.
Both. She will quack when I come out and when I'm not around.
She hasn't started laying yet despite being around 10 months old.

She's always lived with them though.
It sounds like she also lived with a male duck whom she is now separated from. She might like the chickens just fine but like how a chicken wouldn't love to only live with ducks, a duck wouldn't like to live with only chickens. You asked why is my duck suddenly quacking so much. Likely she's quacking so much because you took her drake away. A fix would be to get another hen duck. Other than that or rehoming her, I don't know what else you can do.

But she’s she sexually mature now. My 10 month old Runner love their voices
It's been a while since I've had runners. I don't remember them being too noisy except at feeding time. Maybe I misremember. If it's a case of just being a noisy breed then she'll have to rehome. I wouldn't think it'd hurt to get a friend first and try that.

Just so everyone knows, I would get another female but nobody is currently selling older females. Only ducklings.
And the ones that are, are asking more than I can afford.. like 60-$70 a duck.
I am getting 2 sexed female ducklings in March from my feed store when they're available.
