Why is she yelling at me?

My silver appleyard duck is like this too, it’s not just chickens. Haha! She knows that people mean food or treats so she starts making a racket when she hears or sees any person, but especially me since I bring the mealworms. :lau She has a particularly rough honking sound she makes (must’ve picked it up from the goose) that grates on your ears pretty bad.
They once “attacked” my brother who came visiting with a McDonalds bag in hand. I’ve never heard such sounds from my ducks before. Or my brother, come to think of it.🤣

We have a 7/8week old Lavender Orpington we named Loud Mouth, I assume you can guess why. From day one she has been very vocal, and twice as loud as the other chicks. Luckily since we moved them into the coop she has seemed to quiet down, time will tell if she gets comfortable in the coop and starts again. She does this to us to get attention or if the food bowl is empty to her standards.

Darn Orpingtons! You'd think an English breed would show more restraint and composure. :) I've been trying to explain to the six chicks, who have been cohabitating with Tess and the four other elders for a couple weeks now, that they will be able to talk like her when they grow up. And that they never, never should.

Made me laugh. Thanks for sharing.
