Why is the lungs looking this in my birds

What are you calling the lungs?
Lungs are pink, small and smushed up between the ribs on both sides of the spine. They are under all the stuff in the picture.

The greyish material above the intestines are lungs...
 
Gosh that grey looks like concrete. Did your chicken have a respiratory disease or something that might have scarred the lungs? I have only seen bright pink lungs when doing a necropsy. Here are some pics of anatomy of lungs and another of lungs with fungal disease:

This chicken had mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG, CRD) which affected the lungs:

Here are the lungs at the back. You pretty much have to eviscerate the whole bird to see them. With the bird on its back, the lungs are under everything else on the bottom.

That looks really unhealthy. If that is a lung, I think I might suspect a severe infection, possibly fungal.
