I have a beautiful blue copper maran roo and 2 beautiful black copper maran hens and my first egg from them hatched a white chick..Confused? Never seen this before and I've hatched many BCMs. - I have a dozen more in the bator due to hatch soon... so I guess we'll see what those come out as?

Anyone else ever had this happen?

If your hens are split to blue and over a blue rooster then the chick could be a splash.

Love the psyduck in the first pic :)

Blue copper x black copper can only result in blue and black coppers. If by chance one of your black hens is actually blue then splash copper is a possibility. Or your male and at least one hen carry recessive white. Going by my monitor I would say recessive white.
