Solved Why is this site so broken if we have sponsors?

I don't use anything but my Samsung android phone and I have no complaints.

Makes sense if you read upwards, owner said app is out of date? But it might be just that I use safari I dunno. Hopefully they can work on it. The Facebook chicken groups are a nightmare this is the only good forum.

Agreed! I try to avoid Facebook as much as I can. This forum is much better.

You have to think though,this site is the first source that usually pops up on google for most chicken (and other poultry) related questions, information and problems. It’s the most wonderful and reliable resource out there in my opinion. There is a reason so many people visit here even if they don’t become members and it’s actually because it is such a great resource. Memberships aren’t for everyone and that’s fine! Also, I’m glad it’s not primarily an app, I hate having so many apps taking up space on my phone. I love bookmarking pages and just being able to click the bookmark to take me where I need to go on the web; much simpler. Also a safari user with no issues. While I will admit the ads can be a nuisance when you don’t have a PFM, they aren’t anything that makes the site unusable or unpleasant. They’re also a necessary evil of running a website. I’m happy to pay for a membership and benefit from no ads because I have benefited from using the site.

I just tried BYC on iOS Safari and it worked fine, maybe it is time to make an appointment at a genius bar to see what is going on with your phone.

I use this site all the time on my very old Chinese cell phone and it works on safari, opera, and chrome. I just tried it on Firefox and it works on that one too.

Just because you have 5G does not mean you are actually getting 5G speeds. Outdated routers (if using home internet), not updated or wrong servers, locational or weather interference, distance from tower and if you are using Verizon they often are overloaded in areas because they are having trouble keeping up with the amount of users. The overload often means that you end up lower priority than someone who is paying more with an upgraded plan. I have Verizon cell service and I have Starlink for internet. Because of where I live if I use my 5G cell service to go online it is terribly slow (due to tower distance and locational interference). However, if I am home, turn off my cellular data and use solely my Starlink everything is pretty fast including the BYC site which I have never had a problem with being slow. I also use both safari and chrome with the BYC site no issues.

I am sorry you are having trouble accessing BYC!
I use both the app and safari all the time on my iPhone, and I only have problems when WiFi signal is low (which is quite frequently at our house). I don’t know what year my phone is, but it’s one of the smallest ones they have.

For me the site hardly loads, the interface is busted and gets stuck, every time I try to click to a forum or messages it takes 30-90 seconds before that page is completely loaded, the ads won’t close for similar time lengths. Its not totally consistent, it runs better in the early mornings. I gotta think the owners know HOW to fix this and just are not, for some reasons.
It is the best resource that’s why I want it to be more functional. Maybe it’s fine on chrome on a desktop but the majority of folks use mobile now. And iPhone is the most popular device by far so it should be optimized for iOS and Safari.
