My order of chicks arrived at 7:00 this morning and I was waiting by the phone!! Yeeha! Mine came from Ideal, too. I ordered 10 pullets and got 7 packing peanuts. I saw which one of yours was the cochin, I got one, too. They are beauties aren't they? I am wondering too what the yellow packing peanuts are that I got.

I love cochins. We have 5 standard cochins and 2 bantams. They're actually very good layers. I get at least 5 a week from the ones who lay. Anyone on the yellows?

If you call Ideal they may be able to give you some idea. I think peanuts are the leftovers for the day after all orders are filled. It's worth a try and they will be happy to help if they can. I always talk to Shannon but i'm sure anyone there will at least try to help. Good Luck

My guess is that they are Buff Orpingtons(shown above) or maybe a pearl white leghorn???

I think I will give them a call. They do look like the buff orps in the pic though. Sure are cuties!! A friend of mine got hers yesterday and all her pp were black.

I tried calling Ideal, but they were busy so it ended up going to voicemail. I think they're buff orps. I checked 4 of them, and their wing feathers are coming in buff colored.

I'm hoping they sent a straight run.
