Keep him off the wire and anything else that could snag, stick to or rupture the yolk sac. Keep an eye out for bleeding at the umbilical region.

I had to help shrink wrapped chicks before, saved one lost the other.... then this hatch had to help one who was hatching at pointy end...surprised it made it

He shouldn't tear it himself. My issue was with the incubator equipment catching it and the chick not being able to move, etc.
