Why oh WHY are my chickens spazzin'?? (UPDATE!)

Cynthia (speckled) pegged it right. It's the wind - sustained @ 30 MPH. What cinched it for me was going out on the porch at 2 AM this morning to find all the cows laying down bunched up under the security lights around the yard. They were bawling non-stop.
I debated on leaving the chickens in their coop today to calm their nerves, but if they're going to live in Arkansas they are just going to have to get used to it.

We have a large resident crow population nesting on the ridgeline above our house and our chickens are almost immune to things flying overhead. They never look up or get startled anymore when somethign goes flashing past over head. The crows are religious about chasing off all the hawks so there's not much for them to worry about. .
