My little group loves their treats (actually things that are good for them) They get excite about tomatoes but go crazy for cheese. First tho't it was the shredded shape looking like worms but realized they can smell when I have it. They would never stop eating it! Don’t want to give the too much so some is low fat mozzarella.

I saw threads about protein & worried they weren’t getting enough. They like shredded fish cat food in moderation. I know they will eat anything. Since fish is supposed to be a better for us tho’t it wd be better than beef or pork. Cat food is high in protein - plus I always have it.

Also we only eat meat from herbivores & wondered about eating eggs (when/if they start laying) fr meat eating hens. Whole family even son has high cholesterol.

Chickens were designed to be omnivores. It's their natural diet, not high grain/soy feed. The fat in a naturally fed chicken is more balanced in the omegas than feed fed. Same with their eggs.
In fact, true free range birds lay eggs with lower cholesterol levels than feed grain fed birds.
Enjoy in good health!! Oh, by the way, my hens love the cheese too!!

My chickens are also crazy for cheddar cheese. I have five chickens and I usually give them one .75 ounce slice between the group. Do you think I could do this 4-5 times a week, or is that too much? It is definately their favorite treat!
