I have a 12 week old Speckled Sussex pullet that has a why tail. The tail looked fine up until 1 week ago, so I am assuming she got injured. She looks completely healthy and comfortable and is able to perch on the roost without any problems. I am wondering if she will have any problems laying eggs when the time comes. I would hate for her to get egg bound. Has anyone here had a chicken with why tail, and how did she do.

My friend has one silkie girl that has wry tail, and she is strictly a pet because she has never laid any eggs. We are thinking the no egg laying is due to the wry tail. But, she is probably about 3 years old now, and she lives fine, she just doesn't lay eggs. But, you do not want to breed a bird that has wry tail, so it's a good thing that her doesn't lay eggs.
