So, this is going to be a long rant, I'm sorry ahead of time. I just need SOMEONE to tell other than my DH.
So me and DH's bad luck pretty much started when we got married (ha!) back in October of last year. We bought our now current house 4 days before the wedding from DH parents, and all was happy. Then the problems started:
Problem 1. Me and DH worked at the same company and one fine December Day, Mr. boss man decides he needs to lay us both off at the same time. It's okay for us to collect unemployment, so we suck it up and move on. We also figured since we bought the house, we'd get the 8k credit and put it in savings in case something bad happens.
Problem 2. Come tax time, we realize that oh my gosh, we aren't getting that 8k tax credit to first time home buyers. Now this combined with a good price was the reason we bought DH's parents house. Now, we have no fall back plan. We have savings, but not as cushy as 8k! We are mad, try to figure a way to get it, no dice. We shrug and sigh and move on.
Problem 3. March 18th I pay off my car payment. I had bought a brand new car when me and DH pretty much met. Wasn't much, but my first car. Yay! We save a bit over $230 a month as no car payment. How is this a problem? Cause March 31st comes and a guy runs a red light, smashes into my car and totals it.
Problem 4: DH tells me when I get my check for the car, that I should give him 1/2 to get a work truck, as his father was taking the truck when they moved out of the house. I give hubby 3k. Hubby buys some stupid truck that is falling apart mere months later, and hes trying to part out to buy another truck.
Problem 5. We realize with our unemployment, that we would be much more "comfortable" if we get a roommate. Then we wouldn't be so strapped for cash. Okay, he's not really a problem but who wants a room mate after finally buying their own home?
Problem 6. Unemployment suddenly runs out, and we are stuck with nothing. I try calling unemployment over and over. Mind you, we exhausted our savings because of the car accident. I finally get ahold of someone today, and they told me they aren't doing any extensions anymore. So we have NO income.
To sum up my problems, it's pretty awesome huh?
Everyone tells me it will get better, but you know, It's hard to see through all this.
I guess I never knew one person could have sooo much bad LUCK!
Thanks for listening guys, off to apply for more jobs that won't call me
