Something else to consider... I was using a bare sledge to drive ground rods one day, and these suckers were 8' tall.. I was up in the bed of the truck, pounding away, and I missed...sledge slammed into the tailgate, making a nice dent.
Meh, who cares.. Truck's old anyhow.
Well, as I got more and more tired, I got more and more sloppy. I took a good hard swing at one, totally missed, and smacked myself in the shin just above the ankle with an 8# sledge.
That hurt.
Bad.
Really bad.
Can't do that with a post driver, and trust me...that's reason enough to own one.
