One of our 2 week old BSL chicks starting making a very high pitch "cheep" sound. It's been doing this non-stop for almost 24 hours. "Cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep...breath...cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep." Over and over. We had to move the brooder to a different room even because it's driving us crazy. Food, water, bedding and heat all clean and available. I've seen it eat and drink and poop. It doesn't seem even slightly distressed. The only thing I've noticed that's even slightly off is its poop is dry. It's very docile but not lethargic. I've checked it over for scratches, wing and foot injuries and haven't found anything. Its vent is clean and healthy looking. The only time it stops is when I hold it. Then it sleeps!

Is it just finding its voice? Or just trying to drive us insane!? :hu

My chicks were cold when they did that. They loved it when I stuck them under my shirt for a short nap.

Ya it's alright this is normal but if you need to put a blanket
over the brooder and if the light is not the heat source put in
a smaller bulb ...

I use this for my brooder for over 20 years and it still works

Can you see the heater and the small light bulbs and they are
not white as you want red or blue really and a soft light with
a good heater .....

I use a red heat lamp. After this year I'm thinking of looking into a different heat source so I can take advantage of darkness. Brooder temp is 80-85° at the warmest spot, 68° in the farthest corner.

I have a 2 week old BSL too. ^_^
She has her moments (er, hours) of nonstop chirping, but it's always been because of something; i.e., it's not done randomly. Kind of like a human baby... you just need to find what's wrong to cause them to cry. Can be because they're hungry, thirsty, too hot, too cold, lonely, hurt, etc.
Playing soft music might help if it's a loneliness issue; I've done that for newborn kittens and it works wonders.

She has 11 sisters to keep her company. ;-) Right now she's actually quiet....or lost her voice! This will be my third year raising chicks and I've never had a chick as noisy as this one!

Spoke to soon. Her voice still works... It's a constant repetition of 4 "cheeps" then a breath. Constant.

I have a weakling who had difficulty hatching. While transporting it home, I made a certain high pitched "chew-chew-chew" (think...car alarm) noise back at its cries. Last night when I went to bed, it did as your girl does. "CHEEP-CHEEP CHEEP-CHEEP...." over and over. Eventually I made the chew chew chew noise out of desperation from my bedroom...and it stopped completely. My husband's face was priceless. We waited for it to start up again, and it never did. I said..."oh my gosh...that worked?" And we slept all night (and so did the chicks)

I agree with an above poster, yours probably just wants a mother figure for physical contact. Some are more needy than others. I think that is their "here I am, where are you" noise. (Just guessing, it's hard to learn chickenese)
