I bought chicks at the Mt Airy TSC last Spring. Haven't asked...but I thought both they and the Southern States would have them again this year.
I only bought 3 at TSC last year....for a broody pullet. (No fertile eggs, and just wanted to see how she'd do as a mom.) Weelllll....I bought from a bin of "straight run Barred Rocks and Black Sexlinks". I avoided the Barred Rock chicks, easy enough with the head blotches showing. That left Black Sexlinks, supposedly.
LOL...they grew up to be Silver Lakenvelders! Didn't really bother me, but not what I was expecting. There was no mention of Silver Lakenvelders as something TSC even had. They were mislabeled.
Hobbley, PM me if you want to get a few chicks with one of our March hatchery deliveries. You could get sexed chicks and pick your breeds that way. Or, we'll have chicks later in Summer from our own hatches, probably around May/June if that would interest you.
