Why?!?

Anyone know why my eggs are oblong? See picture below. I get 2 like this everyday

All hens lay differently shaped eggs. Store bought eggs would have you think they are all the same. I can tell who laid an egg sometimes by the shape. I see more torpedo shaped eggs out of scrawny layers like Ancona and polish, and my Wyandotte always lay them torpedo shaped.

have you cracked any open yet? my hen doesn't always lay an oblong egg, but when she does it has 2 yolks!

I think that is just normal for some hens. I had one orpington who almost always laid a torpedo eggs. She seemed healthy otherwise. Another hen would lay nearly round eggs.

Those are some lovely looking eggs! I'm always happy to see shapes slightly outside the "norm".

Some do make them like that....have had a few 'torpedo' layers.
It's 'normal'.

I get eggs like that from my barred rock all the time and sometimes my white rock get like that too
