whyare my combs changing color??????

The comb color can tell you about the health of the bird. A bright red comb = health. A pink, pale, purplish or droopy comb (if its not typical of the breed) can mean a health problem or illness.

My broody hens usually get a pale comb after they go broody -- I think it's because sitting on a nest for 21 days can be very stressful to the bird.

A drastic, sudden change in comb is probably a bad sign and should be investigated!
But I've noticed that my chickens' combs change from day to day and have come to the conclusion that it is, in fact, related to the weather. I'd imagine diet effects the comb as well. I've noted that The Chief, my rooster, get a purple tinge to the tips of his comb before it rains. Isn't that fascinating?
Chickens are cool.
