Wow, sounds like you are handling everything very well. Glad to hear everyone is safe and sound. Those critters are so lucky to have you looking out for them. Kudos to you for being so resourceful and hard working by the sounds of it. Hoping the rest of the winter is nowhere near as harsh for you.
