I have a neice named Araya Hope, and a friend who named her little girl Tearsa Joy. I actually think both names are cute.

My granddaughter is Dasia, pronounced like the countinent, Asia with a D. I hated it at first, but after 7 years it grows on you. Dasia Brooklyn, I like it now!

My kids also had a teacher named Richard Head, it must be pretty common.

Oh, and my kids had a friend named Star Ryder (boy)

and then there was Mr. Tinkle (never new his first name)

Thats all I can think of, have to ask DH when he gets home.

My sister in law is a teacher. She had a student named nonsense also. She told me that the student always got picked on for it.

My friend Susan, who was a very tenderhearted Christian lady, called me in tears one day telling me that a woman had just brought in a baby to get a prescription filled, and the name on the scrip for the baby? "Shytt". How the Navaho nation and the BIA as well as CPS let that horrible miscarriage of parenting stand, I will never know.

I used to work with a deputy sheriff down in Yuma named Cannon Ball! Look it up, I think he is still there! Nobody ever teased him because he was a pretty big ole boy.

Harley's girl :

Our county commissioners name is Dorcas. Pronounced just as you see it. And my cousin went to school with a Dippty. She was a very sweet girl. My family nicknamed her dimples she liked that much better than Dippty.

We get time studies where I work and the person in charge of if is also named Dorcas.

I named my daughter Jenna and a few years later I had my son and named him Jamison. A few years later, my husband and I found out that there is a famous person named Jenna Jameson (adult movies). We were wondering why all the the men would chuckle when we introduced our children Jenna and Jamison.

Also, I work with a woman named Teflon. We call her T.

I swear this is no joke!

When I was little I went to school with a set of twins. My mom was friends with their mom- and asked her one day how she came to the unusual names of her twin girls.

The mother told my mom how she had given birth to the twin girls while her husband was deployed (ARMY) and since her husband was a car fanatic- she named the girls two names she was sure he would like.

The names of the girls?

Mercedes & Honda

Some where around here I have the class picture.... poor little Honda!

I think unique names are cool, but when they are obviously named after something well known, they are not unique, just weird,IMHO. I've heard of some siblings named Thank The Lord, Praise the Lord, and Wonderul Witness. Last name Wortham. I also know twins named Calvin Darnell and Dalvin Carnell, not so weird but why would you do it?

Twins named William DeJon Stanley and Willie DeJon Stanley. Absolutely true, the only difference in the names were William and Willie, I agree, why?

Edited to add, I left the first name the same as the actual students but changed the middle and last names for privacy.
