Our county commissioners name is Dorcas. Pronounced just as you see it. And my cousin went to school with a Dippty. She was a very sweet girl. My family nicknamed her dimples she liked that much better than Dippty.

I went to school with a Dinksy (I was almost an adult before I found out she was named Margaret) and her sister Vangie (short for Evangeline). One of my husband's relatives is called Buck, not so bad unless you know that it is short for the childhood "Slop Bucket", because he was such a messy eater.
