wierd, strange, unusal and just down right wrong names for Kids.

My friend and I always told ourselves that we're going to name our kids after Harry Potter characters. Like Sirius, and Remus.

I'm a former teacher. We had a student's parent's name "Dorcas." I thought it was a last name, but learned it's not as odd/off as it originally comes across.

Had a student named "Rayon," we always joked about his brother "Cotton" (again, a name that is not so uncommon).

My name is uncommon and I like it. There is a difference between uncommon and leading to ridicule though.

My siblings are Angela and David. I DO NOT like my uncommon name when your name rhymes with diarrhea and gonorrhea it makes it hard as a child. Now as an adult I introduce myself as Char. It is just easier for people to remember.

I think it's a disservice to children to give them a name that they will spend their lifetimes repeating and spelling for other people. A name may sound glamorous or special to a parent now, but will it eventually cause more aggravation than anything else?

My name is special and unique. I stopped getting frustrated with people in second grade. When we learned phonetics, I realized why people mis-pronounce my name. I get it. And i still like having a name i don't hear, ever...of course with the internet, i can find others and a zoo in Africa with the same name.

I'm pretty sure Lemonjello and Oranjello is an urban legend. I've heard that one on more than one occasion.
