Fortunately, I had an older sister who begged to name me Tammy, after Debbie Reynolds in the TV series. Thank goodness she won out.

I went to school with a girl named Pepper Culpepper and a boy named John St. John. Some imagination their parents had.

I got one for you.

Emalthea.

Maternal Great-Gramma was Emily. Paternal great-gramma was Althea.

Viola! Emalthea. Pronounced Em-al-thee-a

Thus - I go by Em.

Now, I have a cousin who is expecting and is planning on naming her boy Blaze Lennon Hershey. What a handle.

What about the Nascar racer Dick Trickle?

Another name- which I think is WAY too much is what my sister is planning to name her girl - if she ever has one. Madelyn Bessie Rose. Two Middle names? The last name is a doozy as well. Love my sis, but geeze.

Em

My name is Kinni Mykell (did I mention I'm female?). Weird? Yes. Uncomfortable for me? Yes. Do I think there should be legislation against it? No.

my name is Terry, In school I constantly got told to put my hand down cause I was not a boy. When I insisted I was Terry they would say well dear we need your whole name Theresa. My name is not Theresa.
My uncle named his kids names in the original star trek series, the boy is Varian and the girl is Alithia
My DH wanted to name DD after one of my ancestors her name was patience. I told him there was no way a daughter of mine would have any. BTW, I was right.
I used to work at Jo-Anne Fabrics and one day these 2 women were having this conversation in my register line:

1st lady: so I hear your going to be a grandmother , that's so nice

2nc lady: yes ,she's due in june

1st lady: what are they naming the baby?

2nd lady: doesn't matter I'm calling her Mary

1st lady: what do you mean?

2nd lady: well they want to call her Shaniqua or Laquinta or Laquisha,
I'm just calling her Mary and they can get over it!

ok so my kids names are Brooklynn Ashley.. spelt with two N's kinda a bummer when I go to look for preprinted stuff with her name on it.. always one N. My sons name is Bryce Andrew .. again all the preprinted stuff has an I instead of a Y

and my third sons name is Dillon.. always Dylan on those pre printed things..

I didnt name Dylan because it ment god of the sea.. Dillon means faithfull..

His middle name is Manassah.. from the bible it is Josephs first born son.

We went to my sons All Star Baseball games last week and I have never heard so many "off" names in one place at one time! Mind you, these are all boys names.
