Wife is furious!

My granny didn't care if it was her chickens, papa's hunting hounds, or us 2 grandboys. We've all seen the wrong end of a broom more than once. I've seen that woman stare down a full grown bull.

She spoiled all of us but she didn't put up with any crap.

My wife sounds a LOT like granny.

A few positive notes:
At least they didn't run around to the other side of the house to knock on the backdoor.
Good thing you don't have a dog or cat door.
It could've been worse than the chickens... unwanted surprise guests/family.

We do have a dog door....... I’ve been threatened with bodily harm if I even think about it.

Not to try and outdue anyone BUT one of the bedroom windows faces the chicken coop and...wait for it...they take turns setting on the sill and TAPPING on the glass until we get up and treat them....the saying "up with the chickens " is literal at Snowflake Farm.

Setting here enjoying a nice cup of coffee. Knock, knock.... wife goes to front, looks out window, nobody there. She opens the door to our broody standing with 4-5 of her spawn. She shuts the door then chews on me for ‘spoiling the darn chickens.’

Knock, knock..... I open the door and hand the broody a handful of Cheerios.

Tried to convince wife the bird was pecking at morning bugs. She still isn’t buying it.

Mine have been knocking at the backdoor for years now. I love it!

Sometimes they break in as well!

Mine parade through the basement when the door is cracked open. They've learned to slide the door wide enough to fit if it isn't closed all the way

Also go up the stairs to the deck to get food. Even the lame one does it since well feed her for all that effort
