update..... I've been applying the oinment every couple of days and Wilbur's comb is significantly better, though still a little spotty here and there. I'll keep on it.
And aside from my usual dusting of everything with DE, I've given each bird a butt and underwing extra dusting to keep the bugs at bay. I see no signs of worms, but I think I'll use the cayenne pepper in their food to keep them away too (along with any squirrels). Pretty much avoid the chemicals unless there is a real infestation.
