Every night I place feed into two night runs and then herd the ducks in.

Last night, for some reason, they decided not to split into their usual flocks and they all went in together.

This AM, feed in both runs was gone. 3 pounds of pellets, 1 pound of cracked corn, and half a loaf of whole wheat bread, gone out of the run with no ducks in it.

Since a flock of sparrows discovered the free buffet, I've had to double what I feed the geese. So that's another 4 pounds of feed that the tweeties are eating every day.

Doing the math, the little buggers are eating $60 worth of poultry feed every month. Not so cute when the price of feed is so high and getting higher.

You may be feeding rodents also...
