wild ducks

Cant you just mark when hatches like mallards and canada geese, that are hatched and sold all over all the time (and invasive pest species in some areas)? The wild parents penned or crippled for breeding the eggs had to come from wild stock.. sometime at least.

Just hatch and then let free fly when able to. say it must have gotten laid in one of your's nests. how were you to know. then it just stays or goes wild, as long as you don't confine or clip it later. DNR would bring us rare ducks to raptor "reserves" taught at, and rare ducks and eggs in those situations either fed to raptors,or crowded boring life in big wood bins with hardware floors and used as breeders or used for food or training "rehab" work later.

I keep wild species....thanks for suggesting a route to make sure I cannot...obviously you do not know why the regulations for keeping wild waterfowl are in place compared to keeping mourning doves....

I would, but now I have no room. I have a long list of people wanting creme legbars. I think I'm just going to let mother nature do its job and let them hatch their eggs on their time :). However we have thought of that hehe

Hehe? Next time new regs are proposed on keeping wild waterfowl will you step and say one should not? It will happen and these are the instances drawn up to say why no one should keep wild waterfowl because it allows people to capture wild waterfowl....easiest suction...ban it.....with the current populace....certainly possible....

Clint you need to calm down, your starting problems that don't need to be started. Let alone the bird laid an egg in my yard, I didn't yank it from the bird, I didn't disterb the bird, nor was it making a nest. Let alone I did not capture the bird. Therefore I have done nothing wrong, even if I did hatch the egg, which if youve noticed I decided not to.

It's probably from a black-bellied whistling duck. I wouldn't mess with it It's probably no good anyway.
