wild dycklings

Kudos for trying to help ducklings in need. If they are a cross breed, then they should not be released. Most likely they will not be able to fly but they will also not possess the instincts needed to survive in the wild. Plus, domestic ducks pollute the gene pool of wild populations so they shouldn't be out there.

If you don't want to raise and keep them, maybe try finding a home for them. You could offer them for free or a few dollars to recoup some feed costs.

To try to get them to eat, I'd offer some greens, finely chopped romaine or smashed and hulled frozen peas. Place these on the top of a slurry ( a VERY wet mix of water and feed ) and then leave them be. Ducklings are usually very attracted to green things and putting greens in a wet mash will allow them to realize the there are good things in there. Also you can try dropping feed or throwing it near them if they are spooked. Moving things are also very interesting to them.

Good luck to you.
