Wild goslings on the roof.

A Canada goose mom has hatched eggs on the roof of my school. There are 4 fuzzy goslings up there beeping around. They have water (some puddles) but no clear way down and no food. Mom's still around, I think. What would you do? Can goslings jump from a 2nd story roof onto sidewalk?

They can jump pretty far, it's somewhat common for canada geese to nest on buildings or steal Osprey nests.

Nice! I also found out that it is legal to move them from the roof to the ground if they are on your property. So if they are still stuck tomorrow, we might do that.

They jumped! The next morning, mom and goslings were gone from the roof, and one of my students took a picture of them walking on the football field. Apparently she knew what she was doing. But what a crazy thing to do on your first day of life.
