Wild Hogs??

Wandered downstairs for a ham sandwich.

Russian hog blood is now mixed in with our native population

There is no 'native' population of wild hogs in North America, which is why there is no designated hunting season. Domestic pigs have escaped from farms or were allowed to forage in the wild since Europeans started settling the southern regions of the North America. Pigs easily go 'feral' and 'wild pigs' took hold in some areas. At the beginning of the 20th century, wild boar were introduced for hunting, where they interbred in part with free roaming domestic pigs. They are extremely hard on the natural ecosystem. The Invasive Species Specialist Group lists feral pigs on the list of the world's 100 worst invasive species.

Wow... Shoot a wild pig trying to get your chickens at the same time that you are collecting eggs and you can get bacon and eggs in the same trip!

I hunt'em with a knife, too. I also use a fork and tend to use a spoon to scoop the jam out with. Gotta have the salt-n-pepper for the eggs, too. To be honest, though, I *really* don't have to have the knife...fingers will do.

check your game laws where you are but snares work well as well as really large live trap/pens to get rid of them google hog snaring probably more then you ever wanted to know most folks I have helped kill and butcher hogs used everything from a .22 to a .45-70 they all seem to work

if you are using a .22 you had better be sure you get it dead between they eyes and hope it's head is not harder than the normal hog..and then you had better run like crazy to avoid the others, because they will be after you. Take note, you saw the dogl
