Wild pidgeon trapped in chook pen, now my chicken is sick

Do wild birds carry disease to chickens? My chook is seriously ill, and I havn't introduced any new chooks, but there has been a pidgeon trapped in the chook pen every day this week. Anyone know any diseases it may have introduced. Bit worried about bird flu, or do only water birds carry that?

Wild birds do carry diseases, but I've never had a chicken catch one. My birds roost in the rafters of the large shed with tons of sparrows and pigeons.

What symptoms is your chicken having?

She was fine yesterday, I found her under the perch on the ground this morning. She is gasping for breath, it sounds really raspy and her beak is open, she has clear discharge from her nostrils, and she can't move. Her neck also looks kind of twisted, and she was really quite stiff when I picked her up to isolate her.

Unfortunately she has passed.....

And scrool down to read about "Paratyphoid - Salmonellosis" It's a real common wild pigeon disease that pigeon people talk about a lot. I don't know if that's what your chicken has but it's certainly possible. I hope she recovers.
